Surprise. Secret Leaders is (sort of) back with a surprise episode on Youtube as we just couldn't f*cking wait to share it. The question on our minds:

Hi team - it's Dan 👋

It's really Thursday night at 9.45pm after I've got my daughter down and I really have decided to just YOLO and write a newsletter to you legends who haven't heard from us for a while that I'm hitting send first thing in the morning because I'm too f*cking excited to wait.

A lot has changed around here so let's do some quick intros.

Firstly - I bought Secret Leaders out of it's company, Kindling, as I wanted to pursue a serious Youtube strategy and the rest of the team didn't so we politely decided this was the best step.

Then, I was at the pub with this guy after my interview a few months ago, who you might have seen pop up in your social, Chris Donnelly.

(Yes that's a low quality screengrab straight from Youtube but it's late and I cba to make him look better, he doesn't need it, just look at that hunk in all his pixelated glory).

Anyway, I was saying what my plan was, and he looked up at me, stared me straight in the eyes, and said "I'm drunk", (because he was on his 19th pint), but anyway, he then said, he wanted to go all in with me, and I took him at his word, at his weakest moment, and like any good responsible entrepreneur, capitalised on his stupidity.

And here we are.

New show, New Co-Founder, New Co Host, same random name.

What else do you need to know?

Well, we're all in. All fucking in. We got a big office, tore it apart, got in arguments with the landlord, had a couple of hissyfits, knocked the whole thing down and are building our own custom made studio which is gonna look epic. Right now though it looks bloody awful. In the meantime we've been recording at Podshop in Shoreditch which is absolutely amazing, so they deserve a shoutout if you're looking for a studio in London.

We're all in on Youtube (as well as pod dont worry) and we've hired an epic team. I took our brilliant producer Jay, with us, but we've hired an amazing team with awesome Youtube experience to join us and help us build something special and we're super excited about our mission.

The Mission: To build the most entertaining business show on earth.

We're still interviewing awesome guests once a week (starting in September), but we'll be dropping a second episode each week about awesome businesses we want to nerd out on, how random business models work, what weird things random entrepreneurs do that we admire - and basically anything that we think is guaranteed to do ALL these things:

1. Help you learn how to be a better founder/creator/leader
2. Have some fucking lols whilst learning
3. Leave each episode thinking "holy shit, that was entertaining"
4. I need to tell all my friends
5. (think to yourself "I wish I had more friends") - classic founder.

We're gonna share more about our journey here in this newsletter and on social so follow us but in the meantime the single most important thing you can do right now (for us) but also for you, is head on over to our Youtube channel, hit subscribe (please) and watch our very first video we put together last week.

We were going to wait a few weeks, be professional, and drop it in the series with proper planning, like actual adults, but then we thought to ourselves, fuck it, what would be more entertaining? The answer: editing and dropping it immediately and randomly in the middle of August when almost everyone's on holiday and no one will see it but at least it will stress our whole team out but whatever chaos is kind of fun.

So on that note - validate us and our awesome decision making skills so Chris can go to the pub tomorrow and celebrate (on his own, obvs), I'm busy. Ok Ok, I'll be at my mum's having dinner, but whatever.
